The story follows ii loners, the pragmatic Hachiman Hikigaya and beautiful Yukino Yukinoshita, who despite their varying personalities and ethics, offers help and advice to others as office of their school's Service Club, assisted by the cheerful and friendly Yui Yuigahama. A 4th drama CD, titled Sono Christmas Candle no Akari ga Yureru Toki... ( そのクリスマスキャンドルの灯が揺れる時……。 ), was released with the special edition of volume 6.five on July 22, 2014.[xviii] The 4th drama CD contains a grapheme song by Hayami and Tōyama, titled "Kimi to Merry Christmas" ( 君とMerry Christmas ).[54]

The outset manga adaptation is illustrated past Rechi Kazuki and published by Square Enix under the title My Youth Romantic Comedy Is Wrong, As I Expected -Monologue- ( Yahari Ore no Seishun Rabu Kome wa Machigatteiru. -Monologue- , やはり俺の青春ラブコメはまちがっている。-妄言録- ). Its serialization began in the mag Big Gangan on September 25, 2012.[55] As of March 25, 2022, there have been twenty tankōbon published.
A 2nd series, illustrated past Naomichi Io and titled My Youth Romantic Comedy Is Wrong, Every bit I Expected @comic ( Yahari Ore no Seishun Rabu Kome wa Machigatteiru. @comic , やはり俺の青春ラブコメはまちがっている。@comic ) began serialization in Shogakukan's Monthly Sun Gene-X magazine. The first chapter was published in the magazine's January 2013 edition, released on December 19, 2012.[56] [57] Information technology has been nerveless into nineteen tankōbon volumes and then far, with the starting time published on May 17, 2013.[58] Yen Press licensed the series for English language release.
A four-panel manga series by Yūta Taneda was published by Ichijinsha under the title Yahari 4-koma demo Ore no Seishun Rabu Kome wa machigatteiru. ( やはり4コマでも俺の青春ラブコメはまちがっている。 ). A preview chapter was published in the May 2013 issue of the Manga 4-koma Palette magazine, released on March 22, 2013,[59] and the first affiliate – in the June 2013 consequence, on April 22, 2013.[sixty] [61] A tankōbon volume of it was released on June 21, 2014.[62] It concluded on Jun 22, 2015 and was collected in ii volumes. A xiii-episode anime television series, directed past Ai Yoshimura and produced past Brain's Base, aired between Apr 5 and June 21, 2013,[123] with an additional anime-original episode with writing by Wataru Watari following the serial on June 27, 2013.[124] The serial was simulcast with English subtitles by Crunchyroll.[125] An OVA episode on Blu-ray Disc was bundled with the limited edition of the video game, released on September 19, 2013.[124] [126] The opening theme is "Yukitoki" ( ユキトキ ) by Nagi Yanagi and the ending theme is "Hello Lonely" past Saori Hayami and Nao Tōyama.[127] The anime has been licensed by Sentai Filmworks in Northward America and Madman Entertainment in Australia and New Zealand.[2] [128] [129]
A second season was announced by Shogakukan in 2014.[130] The season, titled "Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Come up wa Machigatteiru. Zoku", is produced by Feel and directed by Kei Oikawa, with character designs past Yuichi Tanaka and series composition by Shōtarō Suga.[131] It aired betwixt April three and June 26, 2015. The opening theme is "Harumodoki" ( 春擬き ) by Yanagi.[132] The ending theme is "Everyday World." ( エブリデイワールド ) by Yukino Yukinoshita (Hayami) and Yui Yuigahama (Tōyama).[133] The second season has been licensed by Sentai Filmworks.[134] An OVA episode, titled Undoubtedly, Girls Are Fabricated of Carbohydrate, Spice, and Something Overnice ( きっと、女の子はお砂糖とスパイスと素敵な何かでできている , Kitto, Onna no Ko wa Osatō to Spice to Suteki na Nanika de Dekiteiru ), is bundled with the limited edition of the second video game, which was released on Oct 27, 2016.[135] [136]
A third and concluding season was appear past Shogakukan on March 18, 2019.[137] Experience returned to animate the third season,[138] with Kei Oikawa returning as director, Keiichirō Ōchi replacing Shōtarō Suga every bit series composer, and Yuichi Tanaka returning every bit grapheme designer. On April 2, 2019, Sentai Filmworks confirmed on Twitter that the serial will receive a dub.[147] On July 5, Sentai appear that both the start and 2d seasons volition be dubbed.[148]

A video game for PlayStation Vita, titled Yahari Game demo Ore no Seishun Rabu Kome wa Machigatteiru. ( やはりゲームでも俺の青春ラブコメはまちがっている。 , lit. "My Youth Romantic Comedy fifty-fifty in Game is Incorrect Equally I Expected." ) was published by 5pb. and released on September 19, 2013. Takuya Eguchi, Saori Hayami, and Nao Tōyama reprised their roles from the anime.[126] The limited edition was bundled with an OVA episode.[124] 5pb. developed a second video game for the series for the PlayStation Vita that adjusted the 2nd flavour of the anime goggle box serial.[149] [150] It was released on October 27, 2016. Like the first game, the limited edition was bundled with an OVA episode.[135] The release date of the 2d game was postponed from July 28, 2016 to October 27, 2016 on June 14, 2016.[136] Both games were later released in a package for the PlayStation 4 on October 26, 2017. A third game, adapting the third season of the anime television receiver series, has been announced by 5pb.; it volition be bundled with an OVA episode, adapting part of the bonus light novels included with the Blu-ray release of the third season.[146]

My Youth Romantic Comedy Is Wrong, As I Expected was called as the all-time light novel of Nippon co-ordinate to the online polls compiled by the Kono Lite Novel ga Sugoi! annual guide volume in 2014, 2015 and 2016.[151] Hachiman Hikigaya was elected the best male person character in 2014, 2015 and 2016, Yukino Yukinoshita was elected the best female character in 2015 and Ponkan8, the series' artist, was called as the best illustrator in 2015 and 2016.
